Free yourself from you blog

Many times in our lives, we will be stern with ourselves, our worst critic and judge. If we treated another the way we treat ourselves, it would be called abuse. It’s time to stop abusing ourselves and being accepting who we are. It’s time to stop hiding. We are worried others will not like us because we think something is wrong with us. So, we never shine as brightly as we should, and usually, it is our doing and no one else.

It is the cruel way we talk to ourselves daily, from when we wake up until we fall asleep. How can anyone ever live their best life when so much negative chatter is rolling around in their minds?

There‘s so much emphasis on getting ahead, being successful, and striving for change that it can be hard to remember that you already have so much for which to be grateful. Even worse, the constant pushing to change your circumstances can lead to dissatisfaction and keep you trapped in a cycle of constantly feeling you’re not good enough.

Free yourself from the shackles of ‘must try harder’ by remembering to stop and appreciate what you’ve already achieved, what blessings you already have in your life. Keep in mind that you are free to be content right now.

“Freedom means the opportunity to be what we never thought we would be.”

Here are five tips that may help you to overcome beating up on yourself.

Change your focus  –  Research has shown that the more you cultivate a habit of gratitude, the better you are at weathering the ups and downs of life. As you perceive life to be positive, you will come to expect more of the same. You can retrain your brain from negative self-talk to greater thankfulness, gratitude, and happiness.

Know Where to Find Your Happiness  –  It’s not where you’ve been looking. People who believe in themselves know true happiness comes from inside, not from how many toys you have or how many digits you have in your checking account. Happiness comes from inside you, deep in your soul.

Know Your Beliefs  –  What is important to you? What really matters? When you understand your beliefs, you can start to live by sticking to what is really important in your universe. Living in alignment with your beliefs will bring you peace.

Live in the Present  –  Perhaps the best gift you can give to yourself is to live in the present. There’s no room in your life for regret because everything you do is part of the big adventure. Challenges and setbacks become easier to ride out because you’re not letting failure define you. Being plugged into the present allows you to feel the abundance that’s already in your life.

Follow Your Passion  –  Knowing your passion will help nurture your inner soul. Passion means energy and motivation; it means being really engaged with life and focusing on getting the most out of it.  A new day is full of opportunities and promises, and you’re ready to go for it!

There you have it, five simple tips that you can put into action right now to help you live a better life. A life where you put yourself first because you matter.
