Day Zero: The day that changed my life April 10, 1987 by Kim Beck

I am Kim Platis legally, happily married to Bill since 2001. As for my work in real estate I am known as Kim Beck simply because I have been a realtor much longer than I have been Mrs. Platis, so I kept Beck for work and the odd occasion that I got to interact with my sons’ teachers or school during their time there. I currently live in Cloverdale, British Columbia and I work serving the lower mainland.

I came to realize that I am not in the real estate business, I am in the experience business. That, in a very meaningful way, I get to bring change to the quality and direction of people’s lives.

I have had the privilege since 1992 and have worked continuously with the Royal LePage Northstar office. When people ask what I do for a living, my response is, “I help people realize their dreams and then hand them the keys to it”.

On a personal side, I am married to Bill and have two sons, Adam and Jordan. I have many interests from skiing, gold, biking and watching football. I was on the Alberta Freestyle Ski Team, taught skiing, and was trained as a Canadian Ski Patrol.

Currently, I am a passionate supporter of B.C. Children’s Hospital, the Zajac Foundation, and the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation.

Professionally, I have sold over 1200 homes in my career, worked with many developers selling land, lots, homes, townhomes and condominiums. I own real estate in Canada and Arizona. One of my favorite quotes comes from Franklin D. Roosevelt…
