SYDNEY MICKEY
A MOMENT IN TIME – LIFE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME
Sydney Mickey grew up in the beautiful northern town of Prince Rupert. Here she has started her new life with her boyfriend and her darling two-month-old son. On top of the world, Sydney never thought the worst could happen, but it did. And she and her family’s lives have never been the same since that fateful day.
The accident changed her body for life, Sydney will never walk again. But she never gave up hope and worked hard to recover as much of her life as possible for herself, her son, and her son’s father.
Unfortunately, tragedy struck Sydney once again when on June 8, 2019, the love of her life and the father of her son passed away.
Sydney is heading back to school to complete her education. She lives with her four-year-old son and her grandparents in a home located in Langley, British Columbia. She purchased the home, which was already equipped for her needs.
Her father helps out and Sydney is grateful for everyone who has been there for her through her struggles and trauma. Although Sydney is quite independent now and can drive, she still appreciates her family’s loving care.
Sydney enjoys the things most young people enjoy and has a supportive group of friends.
There is a sentence that Sydney has on her Facebook page that says all about what an extraordinary young woman she is…
“People stare like they’ve never seen a goddess in a wheelchair before”
