BEYOND THE PAIN: LIVING WITH FIBROMYALGIA
Trish is a Wellness Advocate, Registered Professional Counsellor, and Best Selling Author and has been helping others most of her life.
Empathy and listening have always been skills that have come naturally to her since she was a child. Trish would actively listen to those she interacted with, including friends and family, gathering necessary details that helped her develop meaningful relationships throughout her life. She has often been called a Highly Sensitive Person.
Trish has been a Registered Professional Counselor since 2011, following a career as a Long Term Care Aide for 26 years, where she was thoughtful in meeting the needs of her client’s overall mental and physical health. It was important for her to take the time to meet the needs of clients coming from a place of compassion, empathy, kindness, and care.
The past 26 years of working in Health Care made Trish realize that she needed more education. That is why she advanced in Applied Psychology and Counselling, which helped create positive interactions between herself, the families, and the other nursing supports that were in place.
Trish became a strong advocate for those who needed an added voice, working together with family and other team members that supported their emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual needs were met, allowing them to improve their quality of life.
Trish was a Continuing Care Assistant to clients who were high risk in psychiatry, palliative care, and Dementia/Alzheimer’s, had mobility issues, and worked in home care, acute care, emergency care, critical care, and transporting stable patients by ambulance. She supported the client’s activities of daily living, giving medications and other details that were necessary in meeting the client’s goals from a detailed care plan.
Trish is also an Artist, Kundalini 100 Hour Yoga Instructor, Mindfulness Practitioner, Reiki Master/Teacher, and Clinical Counsellor.
